Abstract:
To provide a method for the identification and use of a new promoter constantly expressed and having high activity in a microorganism classified to nocardio-form bacteria such as Rhodococcus bacteria or a bacterial strain belonging to the genus Mycobacterium or Gordonia.
The promoter is composed of (a) a DNA expressed by a specific sequence and having a promoter activity or (b) a DNA having a promoter activity and hybridizable under a stringent condition with a DNA having a base sequence complimentary to the DNA expressed by the specific sequence. The invention further provides a method for the mass and efficient production of a specific protein by using the promoter.
