Abstract:

To provide a protein and a DNA encoding the protein by analyzing the base sequence of a cDNA clone in a catalogized complete length cDNA library, specifying the physiological activity of the protein encoded by the cDNA when the sequence of the clone is new and using the physiological activity as a base for specifying the protein, etc.

The protein is (a) a protein composed of a specific amino acid sequence or (b) a protein composed of an amino acid sequence obtained by the deletion, substitution and/or addition of one or more amino acids in the amino acid sequence of the protein (a) and having an RIM-binding activity.
