To provide an antimicrobial agent exhibiting high antimicrobial activity and wide antimicrobial spectrum and having high safety to human bodies.
This new quaternary ammonium salt compound is represented by formula (1) [wherein R1 is a 3-20C alkyl group; R2 is a 1-20C alkyl group; R3 is a 1-20C alkyl group; A is CONR13, NR13CO, COO, OOC, O, NR13COO or NR13CONR13; R13 is hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group; B is phenylene or a group represented by formula (2) or formula (3); L is 0 or 1; k is an integer of 1 to 4; X is an inorganic or organic anion and n is the valence of the anion X and the product of n with m is 2].
