Abstract:
To provide ratA polypeptide and DNA (RNA) encoding ratA polypeptide, a method for producing such polypeptides by a recombinant technique, and a method for utilizing ratA polypeptides to screen for antibacterial compounds.
The polypeptide contains an amino acid sequence having at least 70% identity to a specific amino acid sequence originated from Chlamydia trachomatis. The invention also discloses a polynucleotide having at least 70% identity to a polynucleotide encoding the polypeptide containing the amino acid sequence.
