Abstract:
To provide a vector virus having at least two kinds of foreign nucleic acid sequences inserted thereinto by identifying the gene regions in a genome at which inserted foreign genes can be expressed without affecting the replication of a feline herpes virus type 1 (FHV-1), and to provide an attenuated recombinant FHV-1 utilizable as a vaccine.
The attenuated recombinant FHV-1 is obtained by inserting at least two kinds of foreign genes into two different gene regions not fatally affecting the proliferation of the virus in the genome of the feline herpes virus type 1.
