Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound as a fluorinating agent having improved fluorinating efficiency and reaction selectivity, excellent in terms of yield of synthesis, reaction condition, handling and regeneration efficiency of fluorinating agent.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (R1 is H, halogen, 1-4C alkyl or haloalkyl; R2 is l-4C alkyl or haloalkyl) such as N-fluoro-4-methylpyridinium-2- sulfonate. The compound is obtained by reacting a pyridinesulfonic acid of formula III with fluorine molecule in the presence of an amine compound of formula II (R6 to R8 are H, 1-8C alkyl or aryl-substituted alkyl). By fluorinating 17β-acetoxy-3-trimethylsilyloxy-3,5-androstadiene with the fluorinating agent, the yield of useful 6-fluoro derivative and the ratio of the 6-fluoro derivative to 4-fluoro derivative are extremely enhanced.
