Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R1 is halogen or amino; R2 is H or lower alkyl; R3 to R6 are H, halogen or lower alkyl; m and n are 0 or 1, provided that m and n are not simultaneously 0 or 1 and R2 to R6 are not simultaneously H when m is 0).
EXAMPLE: 9-Chloro-13,13a-dihydro-11-methyl-8H-isoquino[2,1-g][1,6]naphthyridin-8- one expressed by formula II.
USE: A herbicide.
PREPARATION: A compound {e.g. 13,13a-dihydro-11-methyl-8H-isoquino[2,1- g][1,6]naphthyridine-8,9(12H)-dione} expressed by formula III is reacted with a halogenating agent (e.g. phosphorus oxychloride), as necessary, in an inert solvent.
