PURPOSE: To obtain the subject improver which is an efficient, low viscosity, nonaqueous dispersion of a high concentration of an olefin polymer by compounding an olefin polymer, a specific compound and a solvent which does not substantially dissolve the polymer.
CONSTITUTION: The subject improver comprises an olefin polymer (e.g. an ethylene-propylene copolymer), a compound which has one or more segments of residues of a compound consisting substantially of a hydrocarbon of a weight- average molecular weight of 500-500,000 having one or more groups selected from among hydroxyl, carboxyl, carbonyl, amino and dithiocarboxylic acid groups and residues of a compound having one or more groups selected from among carboxyl, hydroxyl, isocyanate, amino and ketimine groups, both residues being linked to each other through one or more bonds selected from among (thio)ester, urethane, urea, amide, imide and ether bonds (e.g. a reaction product of a polyester obtained from propylene glycol and adipic acid with a carboxylated ethylene-propylene copolymer); and a solvent not substantially or hardly dissolving the olefin polymer (e.g. dioctyl adipate).
