Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an Ni-based alloy excellent in corrosion resistance to strong acids and strong alkalis and easily undergoing working and maintenance by specifying a compsn. consisting of Cr, Mo, W, Fe, Co and Ni.
CONSTITUTION: This Ni-based alloy formed on at least the inside of the tank body of a tank car for transporting a corrosive liq. consists of, by weight, 20.0-22.5% Cr, 12.5-14.5% Mo, 2.5-3.5% W, 2.0-6.0% Fe, 0.01-2.5% Co and the balance Ni with inevitable impurities. This alloy is not corroded by the corrosive liq., e.g. a strong acid such as sulfuric acid or nitric acid or a strong alkali such as sodium hypochlorite or sodium hydroxide and easily undergoes working and maintenance.
