Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel diamond composite having a thermal conductivity markedly higher than pure nickel, and a manufacturing method capable of simply manufacturing the nickel diamond composite without finely setting stirring conditions of a plating solution.SOLUTION: In a nickel diamond composite 1, diamond particles 2 having an average particle size of at least 45 μm are held on a nickel matrix 3, and an average crystallite size of crystallites 3a of the nickel matrix 3 calculated according to the Scherrer formula is 45 nm at the maximum. A method for manufacturing the nickel diamond composite 1 comprises: horizontally facing an anode plate 50 above to a negative plate 40 placed on the bottom of a plating tank 10; stirring a plating solution 20 including the diamond particles 2 to precipitate the diamond particles 2; and precipitating both the nickel matrix 3 and the diamond particles 2 by energizing.
