Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the conductivity of an active material and a core material in the thickness direction, enhance the utilization factor of the active material and a discharging voltage characteristic, and lengthen the life in repeated charging/discharging by using an electrode plate formed by alternately stacking a plurality of conductive core materials and active material layers as a nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery.
SOLUTION: This electrode has such structure that a plurality of unit electrodes each formed by applying an active material to a conductive core material 2 are integrally stacked so that the conductive core material 2 and an active material layer 1 are alternately positioned, and a plurality of conductive core materials 2 are electrically, mechanically connected at their parts. The thickness of the conductive core material is 5-60μm, and that of the active material is 20-250μm.
