Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a nickel positive pole containing active having high use efficiency in a wide temperature range and provide a nickel positive pole- hydrogen storage battery which uses the nickel positive pole and has high discharging capacity.
CONSTITUTION: Regarding a nickel positive pole consisting of mainly a nickel oxide and three-dimensional porous body or a flat plate, on which the nickel oxide is carried and which provides conductivity, for an alkali storage battery, at least one of compounds of yttrium, indium, antimony, barium, calcium, and beryllium is added. Also, a nickel-hydrogen storage battery is composed using the nickel positive pole for a nickel battery. Regarding the nickel positive pole for an alkali storage battery and the nickel-hydrogen storage battery having this structure, the use efficiency of the active mass is improved in a wide temperature range without lowering the use efficiency of the active mass at the normal temperature.
