Abstract:
To improve luminous efficiency of nitride phosphor by reducing an impurity content of carbon and oxygen which does not contribute to light emission and by preventing deterioration of emission intensity of the nitride phosphor.
The nitride phosphor is produced by charging a raw material of nitride phosphor into a baking container of a boron nitride material and calcinating it under an inert atmosphere, such as nitrogen. The nitride phosphor obtained has an impurity carbon content of less than 0.08 wt.%, and impurity oxygen content of less than 3.0 wt.%.
