Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a nitride material, capable of enhancing hardness by nitriding the sintered body of a composite material consisting of titanium or titanium alloy and ceramics up to a deep layer while suppressing deformation in the sintered body.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a nitride material comprises: the heating step of heating the sintered body of a composite material consisting of titanium or titanium alloy and ceramics at a temperature of 700-1200°C in a nitrogen containing atmosphere; and the cooling step of cooling the sintered body at a cooling speed of 50-100°C/h until the temperature of the atmosphere reaches at least 500°C. Even in a densified sintered body, a nitride layer having a high hardness can be formed up to a deep layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
