Title:
NITROGEN ADSORPTION AND DESORPTION COMPOSITION AND NITROGEN SEPARATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3411316
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To selectively separate nitrogen gas from other gas by using a nitrogen adsorbing-desorbing composition comprising a pentadentate organometallic complex consisting of W, Mo and transition metal and a solvent having a specific solubility parameter which can dissolve the organometallic complex.
CONSTITUTION: A nitrogen absorbing-desorbing composition comprises a pentadentate organometallic complex and a solvent (e.g. water) having ≥20 Mpa1/2 solubility parameter. The solvent can dissolve ≥0.1 M organometallic complex and the organometallic complex consists of a transition metal selected from Mo, W and a metal from Groups VII, VIII and IX, and at least one ligand can provide five coordinating atoms to the organometallic complex. For example, nitrogen is adsorbed from a nitrogen-containing feed stream by this composition in a gas-liquid adsorption column 20, and then a nitrogen-complexed liquid absorbent 28 is conducted to a stop column 40 where nitrogen is desorbed from the liquid absorbent.
