Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:An N,N-dialkyl-3-alkoxy-2-hydroxypropylaminosulfobetaine compound expressed by formula I (R1 is 6-18C alkyl or alkenyl; R2 and R3 are 1-4C alkyl, alkenyl or hydroxyalkyl; n is 2-4).
USE: Useful as a surfactant for detergents, emulsifying and dispersing agents, etc., especially biochemical surfactants, such as membranous protein solubilizing agents, etc., for separating and purifying water-insoluble proteins.
PREPARATION: Tertiary amines expressed by formula II are reacted with propane sultone to readily afford the compound expressed by formula I.
