Abstract:
To provide an alkylene diamine having a specific structure, a new method for producing the same and a composition containing the same.
This N,N'-dialkyl-N,N'-bis(polyhydroxyalkyl)alkylenediamine is produced by performing the reaction of an N-(polyhydroxyalkyl)alkylamine with a dinitrile, dialdehyde, or its acetal or hemiacetal in the presence of hydrogen and a transition metal catalyst. The compound is used for a detergent, a coating blended material, an ink blended material, an agricultural blended material, etc., as an emulsifying agent, a humectant, a blowing agent, a rheology regulator, a dispersing agent, etc.
