Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an arc tube for an electrodeless high luminous intensity(HID) lamp having a stabilized condensate position. CONSTITUTION: Deformable parts 15, 18 and 19 are arranged in a tube wall of an arc tube 12. These deformable parts may be a recess arranged on an inside surface of the arc tube in a manufacturing process of the arc tube. When a lamp is lighted, a condensate 34 of a nongas component of an enclosed material substantially continues to exists in a cold spot area formed of the recess or the like, and as a result, since the tube wall of the arc tube is kept transparent, a maximum quantity of light output can be obtained, and such an arc tube shows more excellent stability and efficiency to substantially high electric power than an arc tube having no such recess.
