PURPOSE: To reduce noise caused by the collision of the teeth of a sprocket at the chain winding side with each roller of a chain in the vehicular chain transmission gear.
CONSTITUTION: Both the side surfaces of the base section 3 of each tooth 2 of a sprocket 1 are made to be each flat surface 32, and many lateral holes 4 are provided for the base section. Paired elastic rings 7 brought into contact with both the side surfaces are integrally combined with each other so as to be held by the sprocket 1 at each joint section. When the chain 10 is wound in the sprocket 1, each link 12 is hit against each elastic ring 7 so as to allow shock to be absorbed, each roller is then meshed with each tooth 2 thereafter. Since each elastic ring 7 is not restricted at any place other than each joint section, strong material which is liable to be deflected and can withstand impact load, can favorably be used.
