To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery having high long-term reliability under a high temperature environment.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode 200, nonaqueous electrolyte, and a separator. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode collector and a positive electrode mixture layer formed on the positive electrode collector. The positive electrode mixture layer can occlude/release Li ions. The negative electrode 200 has area larger than that of the positive electrode mixture layer of the positive electrode and is disposed so as to cover the whole surface of the positive electrode mixture layer via the separator. The negative electrode 200 includes an Al layer 201 and a Li-Al alloy layer 202 formed on a surface of the Al layer 201. The tensile strength of the negative electrode 200 is equal to or greater than 4 N/mm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
