Title:
NON-AQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS57147872
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the internal resistance of a non-aqueous electrolyte battery by welding a conductive current collector, which is electrochemically inactive and has a number of spiky projections, to the bottom of a negative can, and pressing a negative active material upon the said current collector so that the said current collector is buried in the negative active material.

CONSTITUTION: A current collector 2 consisting of a disk-like stainless steel member and a number of spiky projections protruding from the above member, is welded to the bottom of a negative can 1. Next, the current collector 2 is buried in a negative active material 3 by pressing the material 3 upon the collector 2 so that the ends of the spiky projections of the collector 2 are bent. After that, a non-aqueous electrolyte battery is constituted by the combination of a positive mixture 5, a separator 6, a positive can 7 and a gasket 4. Owing to the above constitution, the adhesion between the collector 2 and the material 3 can be secured, and the electric conductivity and the current collecting performance between the collector 2 and the material 3 can be improved. Consequently, the internal resistance of the battery can be reduced, and the utilization rate of the battery can be increased.
