To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having an improved high-temperature charging/discharging cycle life and high-temperature storage recovery property.
The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode capable of storing/releasing lithium, a negative electrode capable of storing/releasing lithium, a separator, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode contains a chalcogen compound as an active material, the negative electrode contains two or more types of carbonaceous materials and a binding material as a negative electrode material carried on a collector. The non-aqueous electrolyte contains a non-aqueous solvent mainly consisting of γ-butyrolactone. The charging capacity is Pc (mAh/g), surface density is Pp (g/m2). The capacity ratio (Cratio) of the positive electrode to the negative electrode is 0.724-0.914 when Cratio=(Pc×Pp)/(Nc×Np), where charge capacity and surface density of the positive electrode are Pc (mAh/g) and Pp (g/m2), respectively, and those of the negative electrode are Nc (mAh/g) and Np (g/m2), respectively.
