Abstract:

To provide a non-asbestos friction member having a good brake squeak and allophone characteristics without damaging the performance of the friction material itself such as frictional coefficient, etc., in the non-asbestos-based frictional member.

This non-asbestos friction member obtained by bonding a friction material including a thermosetting resin-binding material, reinforcing fiber and friction-adjusting material with a pressure plate is characterized in that the friction material is obtained by blending further a premix including an elastomer and a cross-linking agent at a thickness part from the bonded surface to an effective wear allowance. It is preferable that the premix includes 10 to 97 vol.% elastomer and also the premix includes a reinforcing fiber.
