Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new 1,25D3 analog which is useful in medicine and/or for personal nursing care goods and does not show an excess calcium-hemoid activity undesirable in vivo.
SOLUTION: A new sulfur-containing analog of 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 is provided. The analog is synthesized in a convergent pattern by linking an A ring fragment and C,D ring fragments. Each analog having 1α, 3β-substituent stereochemistry shows a pharmacologically preferable combination of proliferation inhibition and transcription regulation activity high in vitro with calcium-hemoid activity low in vivo.
