Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact charger and non-contact charging method capable of efficiently performing charging even in an environment in which communication is easily interrupted.SOLUTION: A non-contact charger 10 of an embodiment comprises a power transmission unit 20 and a power reception unit 40. The power transmission unit 20 includes: a power transmission coil 21; a current voltage variable unit 22 for outputting arbitrary AC power to the power transmission coil 21; a power transmission side communication unit 23; and a power transmission side control unit 24 for controlling the current voltage variable unit 22 and the power transmission side communication unit 23. The power reception unit 40 includes: a power reception coil 41; a battery 42; a switch 44 for controlling power supply to the battery 42; a power reception side communication unit 45 for transmitting a current value and a voltage value of the power reception unit 40 to the power transmission side communication unit 23 and receiving a switch control signal from the power transmission side communication unit 23; and a power reception side control unit 46 for changing over ON and OFF of the switch. The switch allows the power reception coil 21 to supply power to the battery 42 when the switch is ON, and inhibits the power reception coil 21 from supplying power to the battery 42 when the switch is OFF.
