To provide a flame retardant synthetic resin composition, suppressing the formation of toxic gas on its combustion, also having an electric insulation property even under a severe condition such as under a high temperature at the inside of an engine room of an automobile or the like and exposed with rain water, and a flame retardant resin molded article consisting of the same.
This flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition containing (A) a polyolefin resin, (B) a styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer, (C) a phosphoric acid compound, (D) a surface-treated carbonizing agent and (E) an inorganic compound is provided by satisfying the formulae (i) and (ii) by taking the electroconductivity of filtrate obtained by immersing 10 g (C) component in 100 ml warm water at 85°C for 24 hr, and then removing non-dissolvable content as Ip (mS/cm), and residue at 700°C in measuring the mixture of the (C) and (D) components [provided that the mixing ratio of the (C) component/the (D) component is ≥1] by a thermogravimetric analyzer as TG700 (%).
