Title:
NON-IMPACT WIRE DOT PRINTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS57159662
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a non-impact wire dot printer which doesn't require an ink ribbon and generates less impact sounds and noises by the adoption of such an arrangement wherein a magnetized pin is driven in its longitudinal direction and a magnetized ink which moves along the pin and reaches one end of the pin is caused to adhere to a recording medium.

CONSTITUTION: One end of a pin 1 is installed to an arm 2 and a magnetic substance 2 is installed to the arm 2. A spring 3 is installed to the other end, opposite to the end where the pin 1 is installed, of the arm 2. The pin 1 is caused to pass through an ink tank 4 at its middle portion. This ink tank 4 is provided with a permanent magnet 5 and a magnetic ink 6 and the pin is provided to pass through these substances. The magnetic ink 6 is caused to move along the magnetized pin 1 and form fine liquid drops at its top end. On the other hand, a magnet 10 is provided on a platen 9 at the opposite side of a recording paper 8. The pin 1 is caused to vibrate laterally as shown by an arrow by flowing a pulse current through an electromanget 11 and ink drops at the top end of the pin 1 are caused to separate and adhere to the recording paper 8 by being attracted by the magnet 10.
