PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new substance as a selective tachykinin receptor antagonist and useful for the treatment or prophylaxis of affection of central nervous system, nerval denaturation affection, respiratory disease, inflammatory disease, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This non-peptidyl tachykinin receptor antagonist is a compound of formula I {R1 is H, a 1-12C alkyl, a 3-8C cycloalkyl, a phenyl-(1-6C alkylidenyl), naphthyl, etc.; R2 is H, a 1-12C alkyl, naphthyl, a hetero ring, a phenyl-(1-6C alkylidenyl), etc.; R3 is H, nitro, a 1-6C alkanoyl, amino, etc.; H in R1 and R2 is 0 or 1} or its pharmaceutically permissible salt, e.g. 1,2- diphenylbenzoimidazole. The compound of the formula I is obtained by, e.g. cyclizing suitably substituted o-phenylenediamine of formula II in a solvent or a mixed solvent, preferably heating at a boiling point of the solvent.
