To provide a non-perforated coated cutting chip exhibiting chipping resistance in high speed cutting.
In this non-perforated coated cutting chip, a hard coated layer including a lower layer composed of a Ti-compound layer and an upper layer composed of α-type Al2O3 layer is vapor-deposited on the surface of a chip base, and the cutting chip is fitted to a tool body by being clamped and tightened by a clamp piece. In a state that an abrasive material layer composed of a carbonitride titanium oxide layer satisfying a composition formula: Ti(C1-ZNZ)1-XOX (X: 0.25 to 0.45, O≤Z≤1 by an atomic ratio) is vapor-deposited on the whole surface of the upper layer with an average layer thickness ranging from 0.5 to 5 μm, an abrasive liquid mixed with SiC fine grains is injected thereto by wet blasting, thereby polishing the surface of the α-type Al2O3 layer with the abrasive material layer of the clamp piece abutting part left unpolished to obtain a surface roughness Ra of 0.2 μm or smaller.
