Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkali-free glass which has crack resistance and chemical resistance even when it contains only a small amount of BOin a glass composition.SOLUTION: The alkali-free glass of the invention comprises as the glass composition by mol%: 66-78% of SiO; 8-15% of AlO; 0-1.8% of BO; 0-8% of MgO; 1-15% of CaO; 0-8% of SrO; and 1-8% of BaO, but substantially comprises no alkali metal oxide, and has a strain point higher than 725°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None
