Abstract:

To realize a high energy density and superior storage characteristics in a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery of which open circuit voltage in a full charge state is 4.25 V or more and 6.00 V or less.

The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having an open circuit voltage of 4.25 V or more and 6.00 V or less in full charge state includes a positive electrode 21 having a positive electrode active material layer 21B and a negative electrode 22 having a negative electrode active material layer 22B, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode 21 and the negative electrode 22 are installed oppositely so that the most end part position L1 of the positive electrode active material layer 21B may be inside the most end part position L2 of the negative electrode active material layer 22B. Since the end part distance L from the end part position L1 of the positive electrode active material layer 21B to the end part position L2 of the negative electrode active material layer 22B satisfies the relations 0 mmL=L2-L16 mm, excessive rise of a positive electrode potential can be suppressed.
