The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a nonaqueous electrolytic solution containing a lithium salt and a nonaqueous solvent in which the lithium salt is dissolved, and a negative electrode and a positive electrode capable of absorbing and desorbing lithium ions. The negative electrode contains a negative electrode active material composed of a carbonaceous material whose surface oxygen concentration O/C, obtained by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, is 0.8 atom% or higher, and the nonaqueous electrolytic solution contains a compound having an isocyanate group.
