Title:
NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63307673
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To suppress the elution of Cr from a positive electrode and improve the life characteristic of a cell using a fusible alloy electrode by adding a chalcogen compound to the positive electrode using a chromium oxide as the main constituent.

CONSTITUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell using a chromium oxide as the active material of a positive electrode and a fusible alloy electrode as a negative electrode, a metal chalcogen compound is contained in addition to the chromium oxide of the positive electrode active material as the auxiliary constituent. A metal sulfide, e.g., sulfide of transition metal such as Ti, Mo, Fe, Cu, is preferable in particular, and for its content at least 2wt.% or more is preferable against the chromium oxide which is the main constituent of the active material. In the cell using the chromium oxide as the positive electrode active material, the cycle life of the negative electrode can be thereby improved, and the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell with a long life is obtained.
