To provide a nonvolatile memory and a memory system capable of outputting saved corrected data when readout is generated in the same address as the saved data.
The memory system has a control section 220 for controlling access to a memory area 210, and the control section 220 includes: an error detecting and correcting function having a function of detecting an error of data read out from a data area and correcting the error; a save area 227 for holding the address and corrected data, when the data of specified address and ECC are read out from the memory area and the error is detected; and a validity/invalidity presentation section for showing whether the address held in the save area and the corrected data are valid or invalid. When a new address and the corrected data are registered in the save area, the validity/invalidity presentation section is set as validity, and when the data currently held in the save area become unnecessary, the validity/invalidity presentation section is set as invalidity.
