This nonwoven fabric is capable of retaining electrolyte on the surface of a porous layer and in the porous layer by forming the porous layer of particulates on the surface of fiber and so capable of obtaining a separator having high electrolyte retainability. Furthermore, durability of the separator is improved by fixing the porous layer with an adhesive.
