To provide a nonwoven fabric for laminated sheet that has excellent strength at elevated temperature, with low humidity absorption and low thermal expansion, and is useful as an electrically insulating material including printed circuit plate; the production process for the nonwoven fabric, prepreg and laminated sheet using the same.
The objective nonwoven fabric comprises organic/inorganic hybrid fibers, organic fiber, and when necessary a thermosetting resin binder in which 5-65 wt.% of glass with an average particle size of 8-300 nm, the alkali metal content of ≤2 wt.% is uniformly dispersed in a meth-aromatic polyamide or dispersing 8-23 wt.% of layered clay mineral in an average coagulation thickness of ≤10 nm in the layer thickness direction, and the organic component in the hybrid fibers and the organic fibers are bound to each other with the thermosetting resin binder to give the objective nonwoven fabric for laminated sheets. In addition, the prepreg and laminated sheet therefrom are prepared.
