Abstract:
To provide a notification device and a notification method which enable emergency notifications even when there is a risk of power shortage.SOLUTION: In a notification system 1, a drive recorder 100 is a notification device which performs notification to a center server 10 as an external device when a trigger for emergency notification is detected, and comprises a control unit 111. The control unit 111 acquires a state of a power source 50 when the trigger for emergency notification is detected, performs notification in a first notification mode including a telephone call with an operator of the external device when it is determined that power to be used for the notification is sufficient from the acquired state of the power source 50, and stops the telephone call with the operator when it is determined that power is insufficient, performing the notification in a second notification mode for transmitting only a predetermined data set indicating the occurrence of at least a situation of which the notification becomes necessary to the external device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
