NEW MATERIAL:A 1-phenyl-2,6-benzodiazonine derivative shown by the formula I (R1 is H, or methyl; R2 is H, cyclopropylmethyl, phenetyl group which may be replaced with aromatic methoxy group, or p-fluorobenzoylpropyl group) or its salt.
EXAMPLE: 1-Phenyl-2,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydro-1H-2,6-benzodiazonine.
USE: Useful as an analgesic. Having wide safe range and mild action free from narcotic properties, capable of being administered for a long period, or even in a short period in a concentrated way.
PROCESS: 6-Benzyl-1-phenyl-2,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydro-1H-2,6-benzodiazonine dihydrochloride shown by the formula II is catalytically hydrogenated in the presence of a solvent to give a compound shown by the formula III, which is optionally converted into a free base, to give a compound shown by the formula I .
