Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject derivative useful in treatment, etc., of benign or malign diseases of genitals, etc., which is a novel 11-benzaldoxime-estra-diene derivative and has a good progesterone inhibitory effect and an anti- glucocorticoid activity-reducing effect.
CONSTITUTION: The novel 11-benzaldoxime-estradiene derivative of formula I [wherein R1 is H or 1-6C alkyl; R2 is H, 1-10C alkyl, aryl, 1-10C acyl, the formula: CONHR4 (wherein R4 is H, 1-10C alkyl, aryl or the like), the formula: COOR4 or the like; R3 is H, 1-10C alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or the like; and Z is H, 1-10C alkyl, aryl, 1-10C acyl or the like] {e.g. 11β-[4-(hydroxyiminomethyl) phenyl]-17β-hydroxy-17α-methoxymethylestra-4,9-dien-3-one or the like} is useful as a therapeutic agent, etc., for pathologically modified cells wherein the growth is stimulated by estrogen. This compound is obtained by allowing a compound of formula II to react with a compound of the formula: NH2OY (wherein Y is H, 1-10C alkyl or the like).
