Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula (R1 is H or lower alkyl; R2 and R3 and H, halogen or CF3; with the proviso that a case where R1 and R2 are H at the same time and R1 and a case where R1 and R2 are H and R3 is 5-Cl are omitted).
EXAMPLE: 2-Nitroso-5-trifluoromethylbenzophenone dimer.
USE: An antitumor agent having low toxicity.
PREPARATION: 2-Nitroso-5-trifluoromethylbenzhydrol is dissolved in thionyl chloride and heated to 75°C. After evolution of a gas is finished, the solution is incorporated with dried benzene and concentrated under reduced pressure. Further concentration operation is repeated and 2-nitro-5- trifluoromethylobenzophenone dimer, the example compound, is recrystallized from dichloromethane-hexane and collected.
