Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (R1 is OH, acetoxy, propionyloxy, methoxyacetoxy, methylthioacetoxy, etc.; R2 is propionyloxy, butyryloxy, methoxyacetoxy, methylthioacetoxy, etc.; with the proviso that at least one of R1 and R2 methoxyacetoxy or methylthioacetoxy).
EXAMPLE: 11β-Hydroxy-21-methoxyacetoxy-6α-methyl-17α-propionyloxy-1, 4-pregnadiene-3,20-dione.
USE: An anti-inflammatory agent.
PREPARATION: 6α-Methylpredonisolone is reacted with a compound shown by the formula II (R3 is methoxymethyl, etc.; R4 is lower alkyl) to give a compound shown by the formula III, which is subjected to ring opening reaction to give a compound shown by the formula IV. A hydroxyl group at 21-position of the compound is acylated.
