PURPOSE: To obtain the new benzyl enol ether derivatives favorable for fungicidal or insectcidal efficacy particularly fungicidal efficacy.
CONSTITUTION: These derivatives are the compounds of formula I [A is CH2, CHCl, CH-1-4C alkyl, CH-O-1-4C alkyl, CH-S-1-4C alkyl or N-O-1-4C alkyl; B is OH, 1-4C alkoxy, 1-4C alkylthio or 1-4C alkylamino; U, V and W are each H, halogen, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy; R1 to R3 are each H, CN, halogen, NR4R5 (R4 and R5 are each H or alkyl), CO2R4, S(O)nR4 ((n) is 0 to 2), 1-10C alkyl, 3-6C cycloalkyl, 2-6C alkyenyl, 1-6C alkoxy, aryl, heteroaryl, heterocyclyl or the like, or R1 and R3, and R2 and R3 are combined together to form formula II and III respectively (formula IV is formula V; X is CH2, O or NR4; Y is CH or C(CH2)n; Z is H, halogen, alkyl or the like) or the like], e.g. E/Z-2- methoxyimino-2-[2-cyano-2-(4-methyl)-phenylethenyl-4-oxymethyl]-phenyl acetic acid methyl ester.
