NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula Ia [R1 is and R2 are independently H, lower alkyl, etc. or unsaturated 4W6 membered hetero cycle comprising 0W1 oxygen atom and 1W2 nitrogen atoms N with formula VI; R3 and R4 are H, hydroxy, etc.; R5 is H, etc.; X is methylene, O, S, etc.; Y is O, S, etc.; m is integer 2W4; n is integer 1W2] and its acid addition salts.
EXAMPLE: 3-{ 2-( 2 -Cyano-4-methylguanidino ) ethylthiomethyl }-N, N-dimethyl benzylamine.
USE: A treating agent for peptic ulcer, having an antihistamine H2 activity as great as metiamide.
PROCESS: The compound of formula II is reacted with dithiocarboxylic acid of formula III in THF, DMSO, etc. to give the compound of formula IV, which is reacted with a primary amine of formula V in a solvent of methanol, etc., to obtain the compound of formula Ia.
