Title:
NOVEL CARBOHYDRATE LIGAND (MYELOROLLIN) THAT CAUSES E-SELECTIN DEPENDENT CELL ROLLING AND ADHESION UNDER DYNAMIC FLOW SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3795588
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an unbranched polylactosamine that causes E-selectin dependent cell rolling and adhesion by selecting a material causing rolling from animal cells under a shear stress attainable in the human body.
SOLUTION: This unbranched polylactosamine comprises at least six monosaccharides and has terminal α2→3 sialylation and internal α1→3 fucosylation at various N-acetylglucosamine residues except for solely at the penultimate N-acetylglucosamine residue. An example of the unbranched polylactosamine is one represented by the formula (wherein R1 is α1→3 fucosylation; R2 is -OH or α1→3 fucosylation; a is 2 to 6; b is 1 to 6; and R is H, substituted or unsubstituted aryl, 1-10C alkyl, etc.). An anti-inflammatory composition can be produced by using the polylactosamine as the active ingredient.
