Compounds of formula (VIII): wherein R<1><0> is hydroxy or methoxy and R<1><1> and R<1><2> are the same or different and each is selected from optionally protected hydroxy, alkoxy, acyloxy, sulphonyloxy, oxo and optionally O-substituted oximino, but excluding VM44864 and VM44866 as herein defined, are new and useful as anthelmintic agents.
