Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a novel cyclobutane derivative useful as a synthetic intermediate for cyclobutane derivatives effective as antiviral agents or carcinostatic agents.
CONSTITUTION: A cyclobutane derivative is expressed by formula I [R1 is 1-5C alkyl, aralkyl; two R1 groups are combined to each other to form a 2-3C cyclic alkylene; R2 is H, 1-5C alkyl, protected hydroxyalkyl, protected carboxyl; R is H, 1-5C alkyl, 1-5C alkoxy, aralkyloxy; A is 2-5C alkylene; Y is O, S; Z is (substituted)methylene, O, S], e.g. (-)-(2S,3S)-3-methoxycarbonyl-1,1-bis(methylthio)-2-(oxazolidine-2-on-3-yl) carbonylcyclobutane. The compound of formula I is obtained by subjecting a compound of formula II and a compound of formula III to a condensing circulation treatment. The compound of formula I is useful as an intermediate for synthesizing a cyclobutane derivative of formula IV (B is the base of nucleic acid; R4 is H, protecting group).
