PURPOSE: To prepare a novel compound having a strong antagonism against leukotriene B4 receptors which is useful for medical treatment and prevention of such inflammatory disorders as arthritis, pneumonia, dermatitis, nephritis or the like.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of the formula I (B represents 1-8C alkylene chain; R1 represents H, hydroxyl, alkoxy; R2 represents -CH2-OH, -COR6; R3 represents -CR7R8R9; R4 and R5 represent H, alkyl or the like; R6 represents hydroxyl or the like; R7 represents alkoxy or the like; R8 represents 1-12C alkyl or the like; R9 represents H, aryl or the like), e.g., ethyl-1-hydroxy-3-[(E)-3- third-butyldimethylsilyloxy-7-phenyl-1-heptene-1-(ir)]-1-cyclohex ane acetate is obtained by reacting the compound of the formula II and the compound of the formula B-R2. The compound is useful for prevention and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, bone/joint diseases, psoriasis, allergic diseases, asthma, inflammatory disorders of the intestinal tract, ulcers in the renal/intestinal tracts, ischemia, atherosclerosis, dyspnea and septic shock or the like.
