Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method wherein a reaction temperature and a reaction time can be markedly reduced by using microwave steam curing and microwave drying in the step of producing a ceramic molding by a hydrothermal process.
SOLUTION: There are provided a ceramic molding prepared by molding a material containing a siliceous material, a limy material, reinforcing fibers, water, and 4 pts.wt., (in terms of the solids) alkali hydroxide per 100 pts.wt. solids of the material mixture; predrying the molding at a specified temperature, solidifying and after-drying the predried molding by microwave heating and a method for producing the same. The reaction temperature, the reaction times, and the drying time can be markedly reduced by using microwave drying in predrying and after-drying.
