USE: Useful as medicines, such as bronchodilator, cardiotonic agent, vasodilator, hormone secretion promoter or antiallergic agent.
PREPARATION: A microorganism, e.g., Mortierella.vinacea KAC-1436 (FERM P-1776), belonging to the genus Mortierella and having the ability to produce KS-506 compound is cultured in a culture medium to produce and accumulate the KS-506 compound in the culture and collect the KS-506 compound expressed by the formula from the above-mentioned culture. The culture is carried out at 15-30°C temperature and about a neutral pH using glucose, fructose, stabilose, etc., as a carbon source, and NH4Cl, ammonium sulfate, etc., as a nitrogen source and inorganic substances by a shaking, spinner culture method with aeration, etc.
