Abstract:

To provide a novel polymerization method wherein polymerization of a monomer is performed efficiently in a short time in an aqueous medium and residual monomer content can be reduced.

The novel polymerization method comprises initiating polymerization reaction in the presence of 2,2'-azobis(N-hydroxyalkyl)-2-substituted amidine compound in an aqueous medium and continuing polymerization by raising temperature of the polymerization reaction before completion of the reaction.
